ENRICH EVERY MOMENT – WORLD TOURISM CELEBRATIONS Regency college of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management one of the top colleges in India has celebrated World Tourism day as a pioneer of hospitality industry that aims to raise awareness about the significance of tourism around the world with the theme: RETHINKING TOURISM on 26.09.22 at college campus. It will be on reviewing the growth of the tourism sector, rethinking and redeveloping tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic. The date 27th September was selected as it marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of UNWTO in 1970 and to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. WING-DING @ REGENCY 250 regents have participated on the occasion of World Tourism Day. 2nd year BHMCT students have researched in depth on the 7 states Gurez valley (Kashmir), Darbhanga (Bihar), Damro Gidum (Arnachal Pradesh), Amadubi (Jharkhand), Hemis (Leh), Lougwa (Nagaland), Nagoba Jatra (Keslapur, Telangana) and took it as a challenge to project at Regency college. The students honed their skills under the mentorship of the front office faculty Ms. Manjarik, Ms. Dhana Lakshmi and Mr. Abhiseik. To signify the World Tourism Day Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has initiated domestic tourism to get the value for tourism and connectivity from one state to another state. On this note Regents have shown through PPT where India peppered with many beautiful hill stations boasting scenic surroundings and a peaceful environment and the popular and hidden gems which are a perfect blend of food, history and modernity in the country. It was a good learning experience for faculty and students too. Regents of 2nd year BHMCT students participated in different competitions such as Quiz, Poster making, cultural Ramp and dance. Sai Vignesh PRIDE OF THE EVENT The event also had the presence of Mr. K. Praveen – Paryatak Bahavan: Tourist Officer, Hyderabad and Mr. Vijay Tharavath (Director of rooms, Novotel,Hyderabad). They were overwhelmed to be a part of Incredible India, World Tourism Day and urged the students that such events keep our community together and boots up the spirit of share the joy and know the hidden tourist places. They appreciated regents in the state costumes for keeping culture and traditions live to pass onto the next generations. Principal of the college Mr. P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy mentioned about the hospitality industry and tourism becoming more responsible and sustainable now and in times to come. He further stressed on empowering the local communities and how excellence of service is an important measure of productivity. Regency is always on the forefront on the research and encourages students to contribute their skills to work towards the exploring opportunities and employment in tourism and hotel industry.
